The study assessed gender roles in oil palm processing in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling technique was used to select 120 respondents for the study. Data were collected using structured interview schedule and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistical tools. Findings show that 67.5% of the respondents were married, 68.3% were educated, with 41-50 years as the modal age class. Cracking the nuts to remove the kernels was the most mechanised activity. Many respondents (95.0%) and (88.3%) indicated harvesting of the oil palm bunches and fetching of firewood to be the responsibilities of Young males and young females respectively. Se Download
