This study examines variability of soil properties in Song Local Government Area. Eighty eight (88) soil samples were collected at two depth; 0-20cm and 20-50cm in 11 stratefied sampling units for laboratory analysis of physical and chemical properties. Critical levels for tropical soil were used to declare deficiency of soil nutrient. The coefficient of variation (CV) was used as an index of soil variability. Result showed that soils were predominantly sandy loam to sandy clay loam in texture. Soil bulk density ranged from 1.41 to 1.60g/cm3 and percentage porosity ranged from 38 to 46% for both surface and subsurface soil with moderate variability in silt and clay fraction, and slight vari Download
