This study was done in Iringa region, Tanzania. Objectives of the study were to determine types and extents of fertilizers used in maize production, types of seeds used in maize production and examine the level of maize production before and after the utilization of subsidized fertilizers. A cross sectional research design was employed to collect data through interview, focus group discussion and observation methods. Descriptive statistics were used during data analysis. Also t-test was used to analyze differences in maize yield before and after farmers joined subsidy program. Types of fertilizers used were Minjingu Rock Phosphate, CAN, DAP, Urea and YaraBela SULFAN.
