Effects Of Pretreatments On The Germination Indices Of Tetrapleura Tetraptera (schum. And Thonn.) Taub
The research was conducted to determine the effect of some pretreatment methods on the germination of Tetrapleura tetraptera with the view of selecting effective and environmentally friendly means of breaking its dormancy. The study was laid out in completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of five treatments and replicated four times. The treatments were sulphuric acid, lime juice extract, overnight soaking in water, hot water and control (without pretreatment). Percentage germination, germination speed and mean germination time were significantly affected by the various pretreatments methods.
