There is current boom in the culture of African catfish Clarias gariepinus due to profitability and public acceptance. The boom in catfish culture has also lead to increased homestead farming, poor management and parasitism. There is need therefore to survey the prevalence of parasites of African catfish cultured in homestead ponds. To this end mature African catfish were obtained from four homestead fish farms, each with an average of four ponds making 16 ponds.
