Empirical evidence shows that Classical Biological Control (CBC) is among the most cost-effective methods used for pest control. This paper is an ex-post assessment done to validate the impact of the adoption of the Classical Biological Control of papaya mealybug (Paracoccus marginatus) infestation in Ghana. The Economic Surplus Model was used to quantify the total economic gains generated due to yield gains and unit production cost reduction. The study used production data from Statistics, Research and Information Directorate (SRID) of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) together with data obtained by conducting a questionnaire survey of 60 beneficiary papaya farmers.
