The study investigated the constraints militating against rice production in Enugu state, Nigeria. Ninety respondents were selected using multi-stage sampling technique. Data for the study were collected by the use of well structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics was used to analyse the data. The results showed that rice farmers in the area were predominantly female. Their mean age and education were 49years and 6years respectively. The average farm size was 1.8ha. The constraints faced by the rice farmers in the area were inaccessible road, high cost of transportation, inadequate credit, birds’ invasion, inadequate extension support and inaccessibility to cheap farm inputs.
