State regulation of the legal profession has been an issue, not only in Zimbabwe but in many countries as well. It has become a global issue with critics arguing that the level of state regulation is gradually increasing at the expense of lawyers’ independence. The article sought to establish the level of State regulation within the legal profession in Zimbabwe.
