Socio-demographic Characteristics In The Healthcare-seeking Behaviours Of Patients Attending Skin Clinic In A Tertiary Health Facility In North-central Nigeria
Background: Healthcare-seeking behaviour is a sequence of remedial actions that individuals undertake to rectify perceived ill-health. This concept has evolved over time, becoming a tool for understanding how people employ the healthcare systems in their respective socio-cultural, economic and demographic circumstances. This study sought to evaluate the various healthcare-seeking behaviours and the associated socio-demographic characteristics of a cross-section of our skin disease patients, with a view to using the outcome as a tool for effective service delivery, better health promotions and realistic health policies.
