Tree tomato (Solanum betaceum Cav.) is an important fruit in Kenya which contributes to the economy of rural farmers and the country's GDP through exports and therefore important in food security. Despite this importance, production faces threats from plant parasitic nematodes infestations. A nematological survey was conducted in five areas of Kiambu and Embu counties to determine occurrence and abundance of PPNs associated with tree tomatoes. Sixty composite soil and root samples each were collected processed and analyzed from 200cc of soil and 5g of roots between January and March 2019 and enumerated nematodes identified to genera level.
