The process of curriculum planning and implementation is a complex one that calls for a suitable knowledge base. This paper is a discussion on some core principles in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for Early Childhood Education. The aim of Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is to enhance instruction and development of young children (NAEYC, 2009); Copple & Bredekamp, 2009; KICD, 2017). Five core principles in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for Early Childhood Education are discussed in this paper
