Businesses are set up to produce goods and render services as well as to create jobs to boost economic development. But most entrepreneurial ventures employ few number of workers in their firms. This study was embarked on to investigate the financing prepositions of firms as they pass through the phases of life cycle and how it influences their ability to employ workers in the business activities. Questionnaires were administered to owners of entrepreneurial ventures registered with National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) in Ghana that employ at least one person apart from the entrepreneur.
