Assessment Of Radionuclides In Borehole Water In The Abokobi Municipality Of Greater Accra Region Of Ghana
Gamma spectrometry study was carried out in fifteen selected borehole within the Abokobi Municipality in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The analysis was carried out at Ghana Atomic Energy Commission using gross alpha/beta counter to quantify the radionuclides of interest. Mean activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in fifteen boreholes were measured. The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in the samples ranged from 0.13 ±0.08 Bq/L to 0.90 ±0.21 Bq/L, 0.10±0.06 Bq/L to 3.24±0.28 Bq/L and 1.24 ±0.16 Bq/L to 19.99±4.73 Bq/L respectively.
