Synthetic Unit Hydrographs For Runoff Computation In Otamiri River Catchment
Computation of Peak discharges for rivers is a major challenge in most developing countries due to absence of long term reliable data on river flows. This study focused on development of Synthetic unit hydrographs for Otamiri watershed. The study area was Owerri, South Eastern Nigeria. The methods adopted are Synder's synthetic unit hydrograph method and the United States soil conservation service (SCS) methods. The relevant parameters include the watershed area , the length of the main river and the watershed centriod.
