Determination Of The Sanitary Risk Factors Associated With The Shallow Wells Water Quality In Juja Hostels Kiambu County, Kenya
Consumption or use of water from polluted water sources is capable of causing water or biological related diseases. It is on this basis that an attempt was made to determine the extent of underground pollution of ground water sources in Juja Town. The water quality of shallow wells is of great importance because it is used for consumption in Juja hostels. The main aim of the study was to determine the sanitary risks associated with shallow wells water quality in Juja hostels Kiambu County. A total of 79 wells were sampled and bacteriological analysis was carried out with 24 hours of sampling. It was found that 51 wells were contaminated with fecal and total coliforms.
