Ecology, Uses And Common Diseases Of Irvingia Gabonensis In Otuoke Rural Community
The study investigated uses and common diseases of Irvingia gabonensis in Otuoke rural community. 35 households were randomly selected and served with questionnaires. Responses indicated Irvingia gabonensis was the mostly used species. The community was demarcated along the three secondary forests within the area. Five trees with disease symptoms on leaves were identified per forest and sample collected for laboratory analyses. Results shows majority (60%) of respondents use the fruit/seed for food purposes.
