Floods are a leading hydro- meteorological disaster with devastating effects in Budalangi Sub County and other parts of Kenya. The occurrence and impact of the floods is on the increase with poor and vulnerable community members being disproportionately affected. Despite this increase, minimal effort has been put in place to implement community-based disaster risk reduction interventions to reduce the impact of floods.
