The paper sought to determine how technological, financial and human resource factors affect adoption and implementation of Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) in research based organizations in Kenya. The paper examined the existing empirical studies on Information Technology (IT) adoption research at the organizational level in general and KMS adoption in particular. It was found that KMS adoption has been analyzed mainly using theories such as Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Technology Organization Environment (TOE).The findings provided researchers assessment of their contribution to knowledge sharing and how they were able to improve knowledge sharing amongst them.
