The study comparatively identified the causes and consequences of community – oil company conflicts in Rivers State, Nigeria. The sample size of the study was made up of 134 respondents who were randomly drawn from the communities and oil companies affected by this kind of conflict and the Rivers State Department of Community Affairs. Data were elicited with the administration of questionnaire and interview schedule. Frequency and percentage were used for data analysis.
