In Kenyan Secondary Schools, the role of the Board of Management (BOM) is to provide strategic guidance for the school, to effectively oversee and review the school management. According to Kenya Education Act 2013, the BOM is mandated to oversee all school aspects including its control and accountability systems, to approve expenditure and capital budgets. BOM should ensure a strategic approach to the schools future by setting major goals, policy frameworks and strategies to monitor performance.
