This study was carried out in Kitui County of the Republic of Kenya. The main aim of this research was to investigate the level of drug abuse and the commonly abused drugs in selected secondary schools in the then Kitui District. Out of the sixty-eight secondary schools, twenty-nine boys’ and girls’ boarding schools were sampled. Out of the twenty-nine schools, only six were purposively sampled representing 20.7% of the schools in this category. Four of these were boys’ schools while two were girls’ schools.
